Pinotage

Pinotage is a red wine grape variety that is indigenous to South Africa. It is a hybrid variety created by crossbreeding Pinot Noir and Cinsaut (also known as Hermitage) in the 1920s. Pinotage produces full-bodied wines with distinctive flavors of smoky dark fruit, leather, and sometimes earthy notes. The tannins are firm and the acidity is moderate to high. Pinotage is widely regarded as South Africa's signature grape variety and is increasingly gaining recognition globally for its unique and bold style.
