The Greywacke Pinotage has a deep garnet red colour with tinges of dark violet when young. The bouquet is complex with scents recalling wild berries, spice and cherries. On the palate the wine shows full body and rich dark chocolate with fruit flavours, balanced elegantly by tannins, with a long and lingering finish that reveals a sweetness reminiscent of liquorice.

Malbec style red

Full of rich berry flavours, quite light and smooth not as heavy as you would think a pinotage would be. I really enjoyed this style pinotage, I find it a bit like a Malbec style red

Something a little special

Normally not a Pinotage fan at all but Chamonix have created something a little special here. There's an interesting undertow in the mouth - it's fuller and rounder and definitely much bolder. Would love to drink this again and try more wines using the Ripasso method :)
