Tasting Note
This utterly drinkable Cinsaut originates from fine old bush vines in Paarl and the Helderberg in Stellenbosch respectively. Both vineyards grow on weathered granite soils with supplementary irrigation, and grapes are hand-picked at around 25ºB optimal ripeness to vividly capture the fruits natural flavour profile. In the cellar, gentle extraction and little oak maturation further enhance the drinkability of this refreshing wine.
The Quirky Ones

Theres something about the peculiar things in life that have an uncanny knack of delivering a sense of intrigue. Its those unexpected traits, the left-of-centre personalities, the colourful characters that time and again tease our attention. The very nature of a great wine is its unique ability to deliver something a little different. This set of quirky wines is a side-step into a world of unique characteristics, where individuality from the vine is celebrated through the creation of delicious distinctive wines.

Just like this Cinsaut tumbles softly across the palate, so too did Marie Antoinette come to a tumbling end on 16th October 1793. She said her famous last words, Pardon me, sir, I meant not to do it. when she accidentally stepped on her executioners foot on her way to the guillotine.

Typical of Cinsaut this wine has a sweet fruit character on the nose and palate. Its a juicy wine that bursts of cranberry, fresh red cherries and red wine gums.

Food Pairing

It pairs perfectly with light dishes such as spicy calamari, chorizo sausage rigatoni and charcuterie platters. Best served slightly chilled and shared among friends.

"So great to be able to receive a regular delivery of good wine rather than the usual 12 bottle case sold by most 'wine clubs' "

- Terry Wharton Hood -

Great wine at a great time, everytime
