Bright purple in colour with a deep violet rim. The nose offers upfront aromas of perfume, violets, glazed gammon, pepper and buchu. The wine presents a smooth entry on the palate, with soft and seamless layers of cloves, nutmeg and warm spices, underpinned by a savoury and meaty finish.
Food Complements
The De Grendel Shiraz will marry exceptionally well with pork neck reduction, a traditional glazed gammon during he festive season and, in particular, with game and venison cuts during the colder winter months.

Completely changing my note on this wine. Similar to the last bottle a few years back, it was transformed a day after opening. Beautiful big smoky Shiraz with plummy dark fruit and pepper, long smooth leathery finish. Delicious with a rich chicken casserole.
Lovely stuff. Really solid Shiraz from De Grendel. Classic floral flavours. Red and purple in the glass. Such crazy value actually.
