Place
A leading red wine producer, with a century old heritage, nestled high up the Helderberg Mountains in South Africa’s Golden Triangle. A champion of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon.

Quality
Alto is an ambassador of uncompromising quality Stellenbosch wine to the world.

Heritage
Proud of its heritage and inherently bound to its sense of place, Alto is one of the few wine farms that have changed winemakers 4 times in over 100 years with 2 being father and son combinations. Family and traditions are important values and are passed down through the generations.

Collectability
As echoed by the most relevant international critics, Alto wines are suitable for a decade long maturation and are a must-have for the discerning collector.

Tasting Note

This bold grape variety forms the cornerstone of the Alto red wines. The single cultivar wine was added to the range in 1965 and is their most awarded wine to date. This impressive wine blends old world elegance with full-bodied, fruit-driven character that defines Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon.

Amazing Cab

The 2018 vintage held up well, with excellent earthy and leather notes to compliment the oak and dark fruit flavours.

Enjoyed it!

Good wine for the price, enjoyed it very much. Dark garnet hue on the eye, plum and red cherry on the palate. Nice and bold.

"So great to be able to receive a regular delivery of good wine rather than the usual 12 bottle case sold by most 'wine clubs' "

- Terry Wharton Hood -

Great wine at a great time, everytime
