The Appassimento Ca'Vittoria Limited Edition is a rich and velvety red, crafted using the traditional appassimento method, where grapes are carefully dried to concentrate their flavors. This results in a wine of remarkable depth, complexity, and elegance, offering a luxurious drinking experience.
Appearance:
Deep ruby red with garnet reflections, hinting at its richness and aging potential.
Nose:
An intense and inviting bouquet of ripe black cherries, dried plums, and dark berries, layered with notes of vanilla, sweet spice, and a touch of chocolate. Subtle hints of tobacco, leather, and dried herbs add further complexity.
Palate:
Full-bodied and smooth, the palate is enveloped in luscious dark fruit flavors, including blackcurrant, fig, and cherry compote. I have just discovered Appassimento having not been an enthusiastic red wine drinker, usually sticking with white wine. So many red wines are too high in tannin for me and then when I chose a Merlo or Pinot Noir type wine instead they tend to lack a full fruity flavour.
Appassimento has fulfilled everything I have been looking for - full bodied and juicy but very smooth with a lovely long finish. Having a high alcohol content I find one glass is probably sufficient!
