Tasting Notes
Well balanced and round, silky with a refreshing acidity. Cassis, blackberry and ripe cherries, with a rich and plummy finish.
Deep ruby colour with intense purple hues. The nose shows aromatic complexity : Blackcurrants, Blackberries, underlined by a touch of pepper and liquorice, and a delicate saltiness. The mouth is structured and balanced with an intense and persistent finish.
Built during the 12th century, the Château de la Pierre was one of the main fortified sites ensuring the protection of Beaujeu Sirs. Property of Jean Loron, it covers 12 hectares of vines that are 50 years old.
The vines planted at an average altitude of 350 metres are exclusively Gamay Noir, which thrive on steep hillsides. This Beaujolais-Villages is well structured and balanced. The range of aromas give way to a persistent and intense finish.
Hand-picked Harvesting. Whole cluster fermentation of 12 days. Aged on fine lees in stainless steel vats.
Food Pairing
Perfect with sushi, tomato-mozzarella salad, quiche Lorraine and Camembert.

"So great to be able to receive a regular delivery of good wine rather than the usual 12 bottle case sold by most 'wine clubs' "
- Terry Wharton Hood -
