Located on the Mediterranean coast, between Sete (one of the oldest fishing villages in France, founded by the Phoenicians) and Pezenas, the vineyards of Picpoul de Pinet are spread over vast terraces, known locally as "costieres", extending down from the wild garrigue countryside to the sea. Picpoul is the grape, Pinet is a small village near the Bassin de Thau, a lagoon famed for its Bouzigues oysters - which, incidentally, are a superb pairing for this delightful white wine.
Tasting Note
Bright yellow with a greenish tinge. On the nose, citrus, honeysuckle and tropical fruits dominate. The palate is delicate, with citrus fruit flavours, pleasantly easy to enjoy.
Food Pairing
Seafood in particular oysters. Also great with vegetarian dishes such as cauliflower and potato gratin with Gruyere cheese.

"So great to be able to receive a regular delivery of good wine rather than the usual 12 bottle case sold by most 'wine clubs' "
- Terry Wharton Hood -
